The Alaris/Carefusion MedSystem III (2860, 2063, 2865) instrument is intended for facilities that utilize infusion pumps for the delivery of fluids, medications, blood and blood products. It uses continuous or intermittent delivery of fluids through clinically acceptable routes of administration such as, intravenous (IV), intra-arterial (IA), subcutaneous, epidural, enteral, or irrigation of fluid spaces. The MedSystem III is designed with a compact size that reduces bedside clutter. Its compact size also simplifies patient transport weighing just over 5 pounds. Infusions can be programmed to deliver at a specified rate or over a specified period of time.
