The Medfusion 2010 Syringe Pump is a portable instrument that can deliver intravenous fluids and is suitable for both in-patient and ambulatory use. It can run either on AC power or on its internal rechargeable batteries. This instrument has four infusion modes: body-weight, milligrams per hour, milliliters per hour, and volume over time. This makes it adaptable to different kinds of patients, with different IV therapy needs.
Its sequential programming allows ease of use for the user. The display screen flashes what selections are available, and the simple keypad allows efficient navigation. For example, in setting the desired infusion mode, the user can press the select button to navigate through the four modes, and then press enter to choose the desired mode.
Its various alarms are geared towards an efficient operation. The alarms indicate a broad range of incidents - near empty syringe, empty syringe, volume limit reached, occlusion, systems malfunction, and invalid syringe size, to name a few. These alarms also enhance safety, as responding to it correctly assures that the patient receives the necessary infusion at the proper dosage at the right time.
