Philips Avalon FM40 Maternal/Fetal Monitor features the Smart Pulse technology that offers automated coincidence detection and measures fetal & maternal heart rates individually. It offers the following optional parameters: ultrasound, fetal movement, direct fetal heart rate, Toco and intrauterine pressure, as well as maternal blood pressure, pulse rate, ECG, and SpO2. It has a 6.5-inch integrated color TFT touchscreen that clearly displays patient data and identification, date, time, alarm notifications, and error messages. It has an optional 6-inch thermal array integrated recorder for automatic printing. Fetal and maternal data can be transmitted to a surveillance system, and its internal memory allows retrieval of up to 1-hour trace data. It has an optional high-resolution array recorder with paper-out/-end detection. It has connectivity to an OB TraceVue1 system via LAN connection using the optional system interface and connectivity to the Fetal Cordless Transducer System that allows maternal monitoring from 100 meters away. Its transducers automatically recognize which are plugged in and displays data on the screen in the correct format. SmartKeys at the bottom allow quick operation of functions for starting a recording, or resetting.
