The Verathon Glidescope AVL 4 Camera Blade is the imaging component for the Glidescope AVL reusable configurations. The camera blade is equipped with a high-resolution digital camera and LED lighting to provide views of anterior airways. It also has an integrated anti-fog mechanism which reduces camera fogging during the intubation procedure. It is intended for procedures that accommodate body sizes starting from 88 pounds (40 kg) to morbidly obese patients. Its other end connects directly to the video monitor for real-time video feed, while the camera blade itself is used to probe a patient's throat. The reusable camera blade requires high level of disinfection after each procedure. There are various liquid sterilants available, so the exposure process and times can vary followed by a rinsing procedure. The Verathon Glidescope AVL 4 Camera Blade can be safely used up to 2000 cycles.
