The Verathon Glidescope GVL Video Baton 3-4 is an imaging component of the GVL system for single-use configurations. The video baton contains the camera, LED light source, and anti-fogging mechanism. It is intended for procedures that accommodate body sizes starting from 22 pounds (10 kg) to morbidly obese patients. Its other end connects directly to the video monitor for real-time video feed, while the video baton is inserted to a disposable Stat. When the procedure is done, the Stat is considered as biohazard and it should be removed and disposed of in accordance with local protocols. The video baton itself is a non-sterile, reusable device protected from contaminants by the single-use Stat. Low-level disinfection is recommended after every use of the video baton, but in instances where it is visibly soiled then high level disinfection is required.
