The Siemens Axiom Artis U is a state-of-the-art imaging system used in cath angio lab and designed to rapidly and accurately reconstruct images of human anatomy at the lowest possible dose. The Axiom Artis U can be used for Angiography, Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics, Neuroradiology, and Anesthesiology/Pain therapy applications.
The design of the Axiom Artis U's C-Arm, image intensifier, the user-interface, and the system control functions are optimized to enhance the clinical workflow. The C-Arm can be positioned quickly and easily to the desired position, the clinician has complete system control within arm's length, and the user interface can be easily learned.

The Artis U is provided with a high-power generator, a high DQE image intensifier, a full size CCD camera, a high heat capacity X-ray tube, and DDO technology to ensure the quality of the images. The generator allows for penetration of even the densest anatomy while the image intensifier delivers the high-resolution and high-quality images at a reduced dose. The CCD camera displays highly detailed images of the scanned area at high resolution while the DDO is adapted to provide full image compensation to harmonize the gray step distribution of an image. The X-ray tube has high heat capacity which allows the system to be used for a longer period of time while avoiding overheating issues.

The Axiom Artis is also equipped with Siemens' Combined Applications to Reduce Exposure (CARE) to ensure the quality of the image at low dose. It is supports all DICOM 3 functions that allows for seamless integration of data for documentation and storage.
