The Sony UP-D898 Video Printer is a light and compact thermal video printer designed for medical applications. While in high speed mode, it can easily produce A6-size printouts in less than two seconds. Its direct thermal printing technology and its 325-dpi resolution produce crisp print quality. At its front panel is a large LCD display and a jog dial, both work together for easy and simplified device operation. This function also grants access to many of its printer settings, while its LCD also displays error messages and other useful information.

Its excellent functions aside, the UP-D898 Video Printer also promotes user convenience. Its COPY button can quickly produce up to 20 copies of the last printed image. A time-saver feature allows selection and resizing of a portion of an image data to fit a pre-defined print selection. In addition, images can also be enlarged re-printing. It uses Hi-Speed USB interface for receiving data, an upgrade from its predecessors.
