The Smith & Nephew 7210164 Fluid Management System is designed to measure the amount and pump fluid during hysteroscopic procedures. The system consists of an irrigation pump with a fluid monitor, and consistently provides liquid distension of the uterus during diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy. It closely monitors the volume differential between the irrigation fluid going into and out of the uterus. The control unit itself is designed for easy device operation with indicators for maximum flow rate available, intraurine pressure, and a safety feature that warns if intraurine pressure of 200 mmHg has been reached. Its adjustment buttons help ensure precision in setting the maximum flow rate and pressure. In addition, it also has an service indicator that alerts the user if the system requires service.
