The Quinton TM55 Treadmill is equipped with the Hyperdrive system, an innovative and digitally-controlled AC-drive system which provides superior and accurate performance. It controls the walking belt and implements smooth transition by gradual increases in speed. This allows it to work with even heavily weakened patients by comfortably building muscle exertion. It can accommodate virtually all patients, with its 500-pound maximum load capacity and can reach peak speed of up to 9.6 miles per hour. It can gradually stop or make use of its rapid deceleration function which will quickly stop the treadmill. An emergency stop switch is also provided in the event that a patient would like to get off from the machine immediately.
