The Varian TrueBeam is a state-of-the-art linear accelerator used in radiation therapy and radiosurgery. Designed from the ground up based on user feedbacks, the TrueBeam can treat cancer in any part of the patient's body, including but not limited to lung, breast, prostate, and head and neck. It is also well suited for Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), respiratory gating, and Intensive Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT).
The TrueBeam features a guided, automated workflow that utilizes intuitive visual cues to improve the patient's and the medical personnel's safety. The process also reduces the operation time so as to increase throughput.
The linear accelerator possesses a powerful generator that can be controlled to deliver highly accurate dose rates which reduces the likelihood that other organs and healthy tissues are not damaged during the treatment. It also allows the TrueBeam to perform quicker and simpler treatment methodology regardless of the kind of treatment a patient needs.
The imaging technology equipped in the TrueBeam can produce highly-accurate three-dimensional images and can also be used to fine-tune tumor targeting. The acquired images are then utilized to fine-tune the position of the patient before and during a procedure.
