The SonoSite P10 Ultrasound Probe is a phased array transducer that emits soundwaves from 8 to 4 MegaHertz and has a scan depth of 14 centimeters. It is used in neonatal head ultrasound as initial screening and evaluation of the brains of newborns especially in premature infants who are at risk of intracranial hemorrhage. It is also used in pediatric abdominal ultrasound to produce a clear picture of the internal organs and blood vessels within a child? abdomen or to evaluate abdominal, pelvic or scrotal pain in children. In addition, it is used in pediatric cardiology ultrasound to create images of the heart and diagnose cardiac problems, and also guide heart surgeries and complex cardiac catheterizations. It is compatible with the Sonosite MicroMaxx ultrasound system.
