The Welch Allyn AM 232 is a table-top audiometer device used for audiometric screening. Versatile, compact, cost-effective, and lightweight, the manually-operated AM 232 is a medical equipment that enables the practitioner to perform quick and accurate diagnoses and assessments.
The AM 232 is designed to facilitate quantification of hearing loss related to otitis media, ototoxic drug, presbycusis, or other factors that affect hearing. It is configured to improve the identification of specific patterns of hearing loss by obtaining the precise threshold of the patient's hearing. It is also adapted to facilitate the testing in a full range of frequencies and intensity levels with steady, frequency-modulated, and pulsed stimulus modes.
The AM 232 can be supplied with power using a rechargeable battery or directly over an AC socket. The audiometer is lightweight and portable which allows it to be moved or carried to different locations. It has a sleek and ergonomic design which further improves the room-to-room portability while also taking up a small area in any room.
The AM 232 comes with a virtually silent front panel control which is designed to prevent patient queuing. It also has a removable cover which can also function as a screen between the operator and the subject.
