The Welch Allyn TM 262 Auto Tymp is a versatile medical device used for tympanometry applications. The TM 262 can also be used for screening audiometry, for testing the capability of tympanometry, and for screening acoustic reflex measurements.

The TM 262 is a three-in-one instrument with a built-in display and printer. The fact that this single machine can perform three procedures means that it can save precious office, clinic, or facility space and eliminates the need for buying separate units.

The TM 262 is designed to provide an easy tympanometric seal via a lightweight, hand-held probe. It is equipped with a predetermined number of LEDs that deliver step-by-step accounts of test status, indicating proper ear seal, test mode, and test completion. The TM 262 also features a flexible test-parameter that lets the user decide how to run tests.

The TM 262 is configured to utilize the RS-232 Interface. The interface is designed to utilize the Auto Repeat Request (ARQ) communications protocol which ensures that the transfer of data is reliable. Further, it has an integrated calibration check and optional audiometry system while the RS-232 port is configured to download patient data into PCs. The TM 262 also offers improved printout flexibility to enable the practitioner to print individual test results or a complete battery and eliminate the need for taking notes.
