The Olympus BF-XP160F is a hybrid fiberoptic-video bronchoscope used for bronchoscopy applications in hospitals and clinics. Light and ergonomically designed, the BF-XP160F delivers sharp and clear images that are larger than that of the images produced by a fiberscope. The BF-XP160F integrates the CCD into the control section which delivers images that are sharper, larger, and clearer than the images obtained using a fiberscope. The fiberoptic technology of the scope allows the development of the insertion tube that is as slim as the slimmest fiberscopes and can be inserted into locations previously unreachable. The images can be easily observed since the image size is larger and images are brighter on the monitor than that on the fiberscope. In addition to the improved images, the BF-XP160F is also lighter and ergonomically designed which makes it easier to use and can reduce fatigue for users. The BF-XP160F features an ultra-slim 2.8-millimeter insertion tube. It also has a smaller bending radius and larger resistance to warping than the fiberscope. The insertion tube and the smaller bending radius and larger resistance can increase the insertion characteristics in the peripheral bronchi and can enhance its torque capability.
