The SonoSite P21xp Ultrasound Probe is a phased array transducer that emits soundwaves from 5 to 1 MegaHertz and has a scan depth of 35 centimeters. It is ideally used in abdominal ultrasound to help diagnose pain or enlargement and evaluate the kidneys, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, spleen and abdominal aorta. It is also used in obstetric ultrasound (also known as a prenatal ultrasound scan) to screen for and diagnose birth defects or hereditary conditions, and gynecological ultrasound to visualize the female pelvic organs and structures including the uterus, cervix, vagina, fallopian tubes, and ovaries as well as the bladder, the adnexa, and the rectouterine pouch. The SonoSite P21x is compatible with the Sonosite X-Porte ultrasound system
