The GE Vivid i Portable Ultrasound is a lightweight solution to heavyweight modern demands of portable scanning delivering high performance, precise quantitative analysis, and a wide range of clinical applications. It provides superior image quality through its proprietary and software based TruScan technology and other image enhancement features. For example, its Speckle Reduction Imaging (SRI) reduces speckles or "noise" inherent to ultrasound images. Its Smart Depth is another feature that automatically adapts image settings for better results. Also, its Tissue Synchronization Imaging (TSI) interprets comprehensive measurements into an easy-to-understand image especially when scanning muscular tissues of the heart.

Due to its pick up-and-scan portability, it's ideal for scanning at the patient's bedside, operating rooms, satellite clinics, and mobile imaging sites. With its TEE Imaging, it gains adaptive ability to accommodate other applications such as OR/Anesthesia, Pediatric Echocardiography, and Shared Services. Storing diagnostic information is a convenient process either with its 40GB internal hard drive or at a central database of a local network. It also has USB ports for fast and uncomplicated transfer of diagnostic files.
