The GE VScan Portable Ultrasound is a point-of-care imaging device that provides real-time grayscale imaging for anatomy and color-coded imaging for blood flow. It is pocket sized and highly portable, allowing it to be available whenever and wherever there is a need to visualize organ functions and to make quick but accurate diagnoses. Although miniature in size compared to other portable ultrasound machines, it has a wide range of clinical applications which include cardiac, abdominal, urology, fetal, OB/GYN, pediatric, fluid detection, and more. It offers ease of use, flipping the device starts it up and is ergonomically designed for one-hand user interface. The menu is easy to navigate and contains presets which simplifies viewing procedure for different organ images. As an added feature, it allows voice recording during an examination for a more efficient and detailed documentation.
Diagnostic information is stored in generic format: jpg for still images, mpg for 1-3-6 seconds video clips, and wav for audio recordings. These file formats provides versatility when exported to other devices. These diagnostic files are conveniently stored into an external microSD or microSDHC card which can be upgraded to 32 GB storage space. In addition it eliminates the use of a separate device since its intuitive software is able to retrieve, view, play back, or delete its image, movie, and audio files.
