The SonoSite HSL25xp Ultrasound Probe is a linear array transducer type that operates at a frequency of 13 to 6 MegaHertz has a scan depth of 6 centimeters. It is used in nerve ultrasound for the diagnosis of peripheral nerve disorders or to help identify other structures that can complicate surgical procedures, arterial ultrasound of the upper or lower extremities to examine the blood flow within the arteries of the arms or legs, and venous ultrasound to search for blood clots, especially in the veins of the leg. It is also effective in ophthalmic ultrasound as a diagnostic tool that provides instant feedback for the evaluation of various ophthalmic disorders, and lung ultrasound to assess soft tissues, ribs, pleura and lung sliding. In addition, it is used in musculoskeletal ultrasound to produce images of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints throughout the body and effectively help in diagnosing sprains, strains, tears, and other soft tissue conditions. The SonoSite HSL25xp Ultrasound Probe is built to work with the SonoSite X-Porte ultrasound system.
