The SonoSite ICT 8-5 Ultrasound Probe is an 10-millimeter broadband intracavity transducer that operates at a frequency of 8 to 5 MegaHertz and has a scan depth of 10 centimeters. It is used in gynecological ultrasound for quick visualization of the female pelvic organs and structures including the uterus, cervix, vagina, fallopian tubes, and ovaries as well as the bladder, the adnexa, and the rectouterine pouch. It is also used in obstetric ultrasound (also known as a prenatal ultrasound scan) to produce an image of the uterus and ovaries, or the fetus inside, and to screen for and diagnose birth defects or hereditary conditions. The SonoSite ICT 8-5 Ultrasound Probe is built to work with the SonoSite Titan and SonoSite MicroMaxx ultrasound systems.
