The SonoSite P10x Ultrasound Probe is a phased array transducer that emits soundwaves from 8 to 4 MegaHertz and has a scan depth of 14 centimeters. It is used in pediatric cardiology ultrasound to create images of the heart and diagnose cardiac problems, and also guide heart surgeries and complex cardiac catheterizations. It is also used in pediatric abdominal ultrasound to produce a clear picture of the internal organs and blood vessels within a child's abdomen and to evaluate abdominal, pelvic or scrotal pain in children. Another of its application is in neonatal head ultrasound to initially screen and evaluate the brains of newborns especially in premature infants who are at risk of intracranial hemorrhage. It is compatible with the Sonosite M-Turbo, SonoSite Edge II, and SonoSite SII ultrasound systems.
