The SonoSite TEEx Ultrasound Probe is a transesophageal transducer that emits soundwaves from 8 to 3 MegaHertz and has a scan depth of 18 centimeters. It is used in adult cardiac ultrasound to make detailed pictures of the heart and the arteries that lead to and from it. It is effectively used in transesophageal echocardiograph (TEE) to examine the heart? muscle and chambers, valves and outer lining (pericardium), as well as the blood vessels that connect to your heart. TEE is effective in providing information during surgery to repair heart valves, a tear in the aorta or congenital heart lesions, and during surgical treatment for endocarditis. The SonoSite TEEx is compatible with the SonoSite M-Turbo and SonoSite Edge ultrasound systems.
