The Grass AURA Ambulatory EEG offers a non-invasive method to record electrical activity of the brain. It is designed for mobile use and features a compact and wearable 28-channel amplifier unit, a base station, and a rechargable external battery pack which can support up to 24 hours of use. The amplifier unit is small and light enough to be comfortably worn by patients. It is responsible for storing raw data into its CompactFlash memory card and as well as signal conditioning, conversion of analog to digital, and data transfer. The base station, on the other hand, can be easily attached to a cart arm, or mounted on a wall with optional mounting brackets. It converts data from the amplifier unit into network protocols and sends information into the host computer. Its proprietary Grass TWin software installed into the host computer facilitates the easy acquisition, recording, and reviewing of data. The base unit can also stream data to the host computer through a dedicated Ethernet cable or network connection for real-time monitoring.
