The Karl Storz C-MAC S Imager 8402XS is the imaging component used together with a single-use video laryngoscope blade of the C-MAC system. It is equipped with a CMOS camera and LED light source that provide high quality live feed to the laryngoscope monitor. It is built with a hooking mechanism with the single-use blade that makes installation and disassembly easier, faster, and more secure. The C-MAC S Imager 8402XS also has an integrated BlueButton that facilitates efficient capture of videos and still images. It requires low level disinfection due to its non-sterile use, but in instances where there are visible residues on the C-MAC S Imager then high level disinfection is needed. The C-MAC S Imager is immersed in a disinfectant solution in a prescribed duration of exposure during reprocessing, and is rinsed several times to remove all chemical residues.
