The Philips Brilliance 16 is a precision 16-Slice computed tomography (CT) scanner designed to obtain high-resolution images over a wide range of applications, such as CT colonography and pulmonary studies. The Brilliance 16 is a high-powered, compact, and versatile CT scanner that is equipped with Philips' premium technologies configured to reduce the scan times, decrease the radiation dose, and enhance the workflow efficiency and the patient comfort.
The Brilliance 16 is designed to perform fast scanning and reconstruction to increase overall throughput. The system takes 0.4 seconds per full gantry rotation at a temporal resolution of 53 msec. The reconstruction process is rated at 20 ips.
The 16-Slice CT scanner can also enhance the patient comfort and safety. It is equipped with the Philips DoseWise system arranged to improve the dose efficiency without sacrificing the image quality. It is also provided with the Philips iDose4 that enables the Brilliance 16 to deliver high-quality images based on the patient's needs at very low dose.
The Brilliance 16 CT scanner is also equipped with the Philips MRC X-ray tube which allows the device to be used for a longer period of time. The patented X-ray tube also provides the required heating capacity that allows for longer scan times to enable thin-slice imaging.
