The SonoSite L38xp Ultrasound Probe is a linear transducer that emits soundwaves from 10 to 5 MegaHertz and has a scan depth of 9 centimeters. It is used in arterial ultrasound of the upper or lower extremities to check the blood flow within the arteries of the arms or legs, nerve ultrasound for the diagnosis of peripheral nerve disorders and also to identify other structures that can complicate surgical procedures, and venous ultrasound to search for blood clots especially in the veins of the leg. In addition, it is used in lung ultrasound for the assessment of soft tissues, ribs, pleura and lung sliding, and is compatible with the SonoSite X-Porte ultrasound system.
