The Terumo Sarns 9000 is a versatile and compact heart-lung machine designed for use in extracorporeal circulation of blood for arterial perfusion, regional perfusion, and cardiopulmonary bypass applications. The modular design and built-in features of the System 9000 enable the platform to be easily configured for current and future needs in the field.
The Sarns 9000 has an occluder which allows the user to quickly or gradually adjust the blood flow of the venous line. It has a built-in redundancy system in the form of the backup battery which is continuously being charged while the system is being used. The backup battery is designed to automatically supply power to the cardiopulmonary bypass pump when AC power failure occurs.
A water mixing system is provided to the Sarns 9000 to allow the user lower and raise the patient's temperature as needed. The arterial flow, oxygenation, air, and level detection system is provided with an automatic battery backup and functions independently of the main computer. The arterial flow is protected by dual controls. For added safety, alarms, alerts, and status messages are automatically prioritized for the user.
The Sarns 9000 can be configured based on new protocols and individual patient needs. The cardiopulmonary bypass pump's flexibility enables the users to manage a specific case based on the definition of safety connection and responses, the utilization of the Central Control Monitor, and the implementation of the machine's built-in Sarns capabilities.
