The Baxter AS50 Infusion Pump is designed for administering infusion through intravenous (IV), intra-arterial (IA), epidural, or subcutaneous means of delivery. The flow rate can be adjusted anywhere from 0.01 to 438 milliLiter per hour. Standard disposable syringes with size ranging from 1 mL to 60 mL are used for this instrument.
The numeric keypad makes it easy for configuring this machine, and an easy-to-follow prompt on the display allows the user to enter information about the infusion and the syringe. While the infusion is on-going, the status display provides data about the infusion. Its programmable delivery of medical solution over a specific time assures safety, while its alarms and alert messages that are easy to understand result to efficiency in operations.
This instrument can be controlled and monitored remotely through its optional serial communication feature. It uses a standard 9-pin RS-232 connector to establish a link with a host computer thus allowing interchange of information.
