The Olympus CLV-U20 Xenon Light Source is general light source designed to work with all Olympus endoscopes. It provides approximately 50 percent increased light intensity when combined with the 200 series scopes. This results to clearer and sharper images enabling accurate and detailed observation during endoscopic procedures. It can also instantly adjust its light density for video recording, or automatically configure to optimum exposure when capturing still images. The user still has a manual override options for these settings.

It is equipped with a halogen emergency lamp that takes over when the examination lamp fails. This allows surgeons to complete any delicate endoscopic procedure. The emergency lamp can keep working up to 500 hours, making it a reliable back-up until the examination lamp is replaced.
