The SonoSite C8x Ultrasound Probe is a transrectal 8-millimeter curved array transducer type, which operates at 8 to 5 MegaHertz and has a scan depth of 11.5 centimeters. It is used in prostate ultrasound to investigate when a nodule is found during a rectal exam, detect abnormalities, and evaluate whether the gland is swollen. It is also used to aid in diagnosing the cause of infertility in a patient, or help guide a doctor with other medical procedures such as a prostate biopsy. The SonoSite C8 Ultrasound Probe is compatible with the SonoSite M-Turbo, SonoSite SII, and SonoSite Edge II ultrasound systems.
