The SonoSite HFL50xp Ultrasound Probe is a linear array transducer type that operates at a frequency of 15 to 6 MegaHertz has a scan depth of 6 centimeters. It is used in breast ultrasound to diagnose lumps and screen for tumors and other breast abnormalities, or to help guide a biopsy needle so tissues can be collected from the lump and tested. It is also effective in nerve ultrasound for the diagnosis of peripheral nerve disorders, or to help identify other structures that can complicate surgical procedures. In addition, it is used in musculoskeletal ultrasound to produce images of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints throughout the body and effectively help in diagnosing sprains, strains, tears, and other soft tissue conditions. The SonoSite HFL50xp Ultrasound Probe is built to work with the SonoSite X-Porte ultrasound system.
