The Sony UP-D897 Video Printer is a light and compact thermal video printer designed for medical applications. Its high-speed printing capability can easily produce A6-size printouts in about two seconds. In line with its speed, its direct thermal printing technology and its 325-dpi resolution combine to produce crisp print quality. A LCD display panel and jog dial are located at its front panel for easy and simplified device operation. This convenient combination provides access to many of its functions and settings, while it also displays error messages and other useful information.

Aside from its excellent functions, the UP-D897 Video Printer also has features that enhance user convenience. Its COPY button can produce up to 20 copies of the last printed image. Also, a user can save time by selecting and resizing a portion of image data to fit a pre-defined print selection. In addition, images can also be enlarged to fit in desired areas before re-printing. As an upgrade from its predecessor, it uses Hi-Speed USB interface for receiving data.
