The Sony UP-DR80MD Color Video Printer is a medical grade video printer that can be used in a wide range of medical applications. It uses dye sublimation printing technology and 8-bit processing for yellow, magenta, and cyan to produce over 16 million colors. For versatility in working with different modalities, it uses two type of color look-up table. The "Natural" mode is the default and creates colors from s-RGB monitors, while the "CG" mode reproduces more graphic colors for ultrasound images. It can print A4-sized images in about 76 seconds. In addition, it is equipped with a Gray Balance function which lets a user choose the best range for the intended medical application.
