The Verathon Glidescope AVL Video Baton 1-2 is an imaging component of the AVL system for single-use configurations. The high-resolution camera, LED light source, and anti-fogging mechanism that fights clouding and secretions are all integrated into the video baton. It is intended to accommodate patients different body proportions ranging in 3.3 to 61.7 pounds (1.5 to 28 kg). The video baton itself is inserted to a disposable Stat, while its other end connects directly to the video monitor for real-time video feed. The single-use Stat is considered as biohazard after use, and is removed and disposed of in accordance with local health and safety guidelines. The single-use Stat protects the video baton from contaminants making it reusable and non-sterile. Only low-level disinfection is recommended after use but in instances where it is visibly soiled then high level disinfection is required.
